How I Teach

PBL | 01
Project Based Learning | Individualization
Project-based learning is a dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge. Students are able to use slow learning to completely immerse themselves into the content. This ability to dig deep helps students learn at their pace and learn at their level. Project based learning uses 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, among others. This style of teaching builds student choice into the process, provides opportunities for feedback and revision of the plan and the project. This style also requires students to present their problems, research process, methods, and results

STEAM | 02
STEAM | Inter-disciplinary
STEAM is an approach to help students see that subjects should not be siloed; rather used interchangeably. Using this methodology allows students to connect their learning in these critical areas together with arts practices, elements, design principles, and standards to provide the whole pallet of learning at their disposal. STEAM removes limitations and replaces them with wonder, critique, inquiry, and innovation.

Game Based Learning | 21st Century Skills
Game based learning is a unique and immersive way to get students engaged in your content. Students use problem solving skills and critical thinking to complete activities in an active learning environment.
Game based learning also great for helping students build 21st century skills that can be applied in everyday life beyond the classroom. This methodology allows kids to develop cognitive, social and physical skills simultaneously. This learning enhances essential life skills like cooperation and teamwork. The knowledge and skills acquired through game-based learning are retained longer than information from other learning methods.
